Access Orlando is no longer providing dial-up or ADSL Internet Access Services
Microsoft Outlook Express
While running Outlook Express:
- Click Tools from the top
- Click Accounts
- Click the Mail tab
- If you have anything listed here remove it
- Click Add, then Mail
- Your Name
- Next to Display name enter your real name
(i.e. John Doe)
- Click Next
- Internet E-mail Address
- Next to E-mail address enter your e-mail
address (i.e. username@ao.net)
- Click Next
- E-mail Server Names
- Next to My incoming mail server is a, set
that to POP3
- Under Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server
enter mail.ao.net
- Under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server enter mail.ao.net
- Click Next
- Internet Mail Logon
- Select (put the dot next to) Log on using
- Next to POP account name enter username
(your username)
- Next to Password enter your password -
(the password you provided when you signed up)
- Click Next
- Friendly Name
- Under Internet mail account name it should
already say mail.ao.net, leave that there
- Click Next
- Choose Connection Type
- Select Connect using my phone line
- Click Next
- Dial-Up Connection
- Select Use an existing dial-up connection
- Highlight (click once on) the connection you
created for Access Orlando
- Click Next
- Congratulations
- Click Close
- Click Tools from the top
- Click Options
- Click the Dial Up tab
- Make sure "Hang up when finished sending, receiving, or downloading" is NOT checked
- Click OK
- Exit from Outlook Express
Outlook Express should automatically go online and your new
messages when you start it and also should send out messages that
you write automatically. If you ever need to send or receive
messages 'manually' click it's Send & Receive button.
