Windows 95 Internet setup 1. Check for dial-up networking Click start at bottom of screen, choose settings, then control panel. Choose add/remove programs from the control panel. Click the middle tab "Windows setup." Make sure that communications is checked with a white background, if it is not checked then check it. if checked but grey then click once to remove the check, then click again to make the check apear without a grey background. (This will make sure that all communications packages are present) If you are instructed to insert windows 95 disks or CD's, please to so as requested. Follow any instructions that windows 95 gives you. 2. Check for proper network configuration. Click start at bottom of screen, choose settings, then control panel. From the control panel, choose the network icon. Make sure that "dial-up adapter" is included on the configuration list. If not, choose add, then adapter. Select Microsoft from the manufactures list. Click on Network adapter and choose the "OK" button. Now check for TCP/IP. If TCP/IP is not on the configuration list then you must add that protocol. Choose add, then protocol, then add again. You should then see a "select network protocol" box. Select Microsoft in the manufactures list. Then select TCP/IP from the "Network Protocols" list. Choose "OK" and it should return you to the "Network" dialog box. If file and printer sharing is installed, make sure that they are turned off by pressing the file and printer sharing button. (this is to make sure that people on the internet can't get into your computer). Now press "OK" to save changes to your "network" configuration. Windows 95 may ask you to put in disks or reboot your machine, please follow these instructions carfully. 3. Configure dial-up networking for Access Orlando. Click start, then programs, then accessories. Choose the "dial-up networking" folder, then click on make new connection. Type in Access Orlando for the name, and make sure that your modem is installed correctly. Click on next. Enter 407 for the areacode and 895-9241 for the telephone number. Click on next. Click on finished. Access Orlando should now be an icon in your Dial-up Networking folder Right click on the "Access Orlando" icon, and then choose proporties. Click on server type button. Make sure that TCP/IP is checked, then choose TCP/IP settings. Select specify name server addresses option and fill in the primary and secondary DNS fields. Primary DNS 205.244.242.10 Secondary DNS 205.244.242.20 Then choose the Ok button. Then choose the Ok button again, this will take you back to the connection profile screen. 4. Check to see if you have the dial-up scripting tool. To do this, go to start, programs, accessories, and then look for "dial-up scripting tool." If you have that program, please click on it. If you don't have this program goto step 5. On the Dial-Up scripting tool dialog box, plesase click on Access Orlando for the Connection. Click the Browse button. Double-click on the Pppmenu.scp then press the apply button. Press the close button and goto step 6. 5. Make the terminal window come up after dialing. If you don't have the dial-up scripting tool, then you need to make a terminal window pop up after dialing. This is done in the following procedure. Go back to the Access Orlando icon under the Dial-up networking folder. ( that is in the Start-programs-accessories-dial-up network) Right click, then select proporties. click on the configure button. Choose the Options tab at the top of the window. Select the 2nd box from the top "Bring up terminal window after dialing." Then click the Ok button. 6. Re-boot computer to make sure that all changes take effect. 7. You are now ready to access the internet. To dial-up Access Orlando, goto the dial-up networking folder and double click on the Access Orlando icon. You will get a connect screen, type in your username and password. (these are caSE sensitive) click connect. If you have dial-up scripting, then then your computer should log-on If you didn't have dial-up scripting, then you will get a terminal window after the modem connects. Simply type in your username and password, then after it says permission granted and gives you an annex: prompt. Type in 3 and press enter. Then press F7 to continue, you should now be connected.
