Chapter 2:15 to 2:16

Habakkuk 2:15

This verse begins with the word "hoy" (woe) 3rd word in line 2. The 1st word in line 3 differs from M which uses a 2ms suf (your) and P has a 3ms suf (his). Your bottle vss his bottle. And P omits the waw cj in the next word " 'aph" and the 5th word in this line omits the 5th stem yod of M in "habiyt" (cause to look). The next word is " 'al" (upon) in M and is " 'el" (to) in P. In the last word "me'oreyhem" nmpl + suf 3mpl (their nakedness) P transposes the waw to the right of ayin instead of to the left.

Woe to the one causing his neighbor to drink joining your bottle to him and even making him drunk in order to look on their nakedness.

Habakkuk 2:16

This verse begins with the last word on line 8 and encompasses all to the end of paragraph in line 11. It has good illustrations of adding he to open syllables to show their presence while they may other wise be mistaken for other forms if the final sound is consonantal. For instance it makes plain that the verbal personal ending is 2ms and not 2fs in the first word in the verse "shaba'tah" (you are sated) and in line 11 2nd word the he is added to " 'aleykah" (upon you) to show this it is marc vs fe suf. and the same can be seen in the last word in the sentence "cavodekah" (your glory). 2nd word in line 12 should be "mi-kavod" (from glory) but the kaph has been left out by the Q scribe and left uncorrected. He also misspelled the last word in this line (12) "ve-he-'arel" 5th stem (you cause to be uncircumcised) and P misspells the word transposing the ayin and resh. The 5th word in this line is the old Paleo-Hebrew letters of YHWH which were also used 2 times in preceding verses in the last page. See the tetragrammaton in the introduction.

You are filled up with shame instead of glory; you are drunken, even you, and are uncircumcised and the cup of YHWH's right hand is turned on you and utter disgrace upon your glory.
